Utilizing the evolving methods as established by Virginia Satir, we provide both personal and professional opportunities for growth and change: “the personal is the professional”

Here are a few of our guiding principles:

• People are equal : we all have the universal life force within us.

• Through Virginia Satir's models and teachings you are invited to experience a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself and others. Peace Within. Peace Between. Peace Among.

• We value our selves and others as being worthy of love and belonging.

• We have the resources, virtues, and strengths we need and have the potential to grow.

• We have choices; however, when we are not aware of our options and our freedom to choose what fits for us, we stay enmeshed or feel limited in our choices; ie. 'reactive' or 'stuck'.

• Change and embracing change is possible. Change is ongoing and involves taking risks; changing what is comfortable and predictable; exploring new thoughts, decisions, and actions is a practice encouraged.  

• Having an awareness of your behaviour, beliefs, expectations and feelings empowers ourselves to choose to respond in ways that honour your self, the other and the context rather than react from conditioned patterns that have may have served us in the past.

At Oakes Satir Collaborative, we are committed to offering programs that will support the discovery and transformation of past rules, expectations, and beliefs that keep us stuck in the past. Our facilitators serve those who have a desire to learn live and practice Satir teachings and models themselves.
